What Is The Goji Berry And What Does It Do?

By: James Adams

When it comes to Chinese medicine, the Goji Berry is no stranger. Growing on the plant Lycium Barbarum, Goji Berries are revered for their amazing health benefits. Filled with vitamins, anti-oxidants, Amino Acids, Polysaccharides, and Essential Fatty Acids, many people have come to revere the Goji Berry as being a powerhouse of nutritional foods.

Goji Berries are so rich in nutrients, that they contain more Vitamin C than oranges and more Beta Carotene than carrots. This is all jam packed in one berry! In today’s world where sickness and disease are constantly taking their toll on the human body, it seems that people are in great need of healthy nutritious food. The Goji Berry is an excellent choice for those who are looking for many health benefits in one source. In fact, Goji Juice is an excellent way to balance the body, improve the Immune system, and protect against diseases such as Cancer by maintaining healthy levels of Anti-Oxidants.

Some of the amazing benefits derived from the Goji Berry include: Improving the Immune System (this brings the body into a state of increased wellness), improving eyesight (this is a direct result of the high levels of Beta Carotene), Improving circulation, Balance Blood Sugar Levels (vitally important for those who have been diagnosed with Diabetes), and promotes Longevity.

Goji Berries contain a substance called, Zeaxanthin. Zeaxanthin is primarily responsible for promoting eye health by its ability to protect the eye. In fact, scientific research and clinical studies have shown that those people who consumed Zeazanthin have less macular degeneration in their eyes as they age.

There is no question about it. Goji Berries are an excellent addition to any nutritional health care plan. They are full of vitamins, minerals, and important Anti Oxidants that are hard to obtain in other sources. However, you should always let your health care worker or professional know that you are taking Goji Berries to ensure that you don’t have any negative reaction with any prescribed medications that you may be taking.
